Women’s football: Priority of the Costa Blanca Cup
The Costa Blanca Cup has had women’s football categories since its inception in 1994. In those years, women’s sport was not as developed as it is today, however, we firmly believed that it should be a fundamental part of the tournament.
Since this edition, we want to encourage women’s football at all levels, and to do so we are going to develop several organisational measures, including the following:
- New age categories: G19, G16, G14 and G12
- Special trophy for the best women’s club
- Exclusive facilities for women’s football with several football pitches
The aim is to increase the number of participating teams and have greater international representation. This will entail an increase in the level of the teams and, therefore, more interesting matches.
