Costa Blanca Cup Has Already Completed 204 Matches with Only One Third of the Tournament Played
Four thousand players from 24 different countries are taking part in this year's edition of the international youth football tournament
Around 4,000 boys and girls from across the globe, representing countries in Africa, the Americas, Asia and Europe, are currently competing in the group stages of the various age categories at the Costa Blanca Cup, organised by Tour-Sport Promociones Deportivas.
Although only one third of the tournament has been completed between Monday and Tuesday, a total of 204 matches have already been played across the boys' categories (B8, B10, B11, B12, B13, B14, B15, B16, B17 and B19) and the girls' categories (G12, G14, G16 and G19).
The international youth football tournament got underway on Monday with its opening round of fixtures—more than 100 matches—followed by the traditional Opening Ceremony. Group stage action continued throughout Tuesday at venues in Benidorm, L'Alfàs del Pi, Altea, La Nucía, Calpe, Finestrat and La Vila Joiosa.
Celebrating its 32nd edition in 2026, the Costa Blanca Cup brings together 206 teams, including 117 international teams and 89 Spanish teams.
Participating teams come from Brazil, the United States, Canada, Chile, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Uruguay and Venezuela in the Americas; Spain, France, England, Northern Ireland, Iceland, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Switzerland, Estonia and the transcontinental nation of Türkiye in Europe; China, Taiwan and the United Arab Emirates in Asia; and Morocco, Nigeria and Tanzania in Africa. Altogether, more than 4,000 young footballers are taking part in this year's competition.
These figures add to those of the Costa Blanca Cup Futsal tournament, which concluded last Sunday with 113 teams (57 international and 56 Spanish) from nine countries: France, England, Ireland and Spain from Europe; Canada, Brazil, Colombia and Venezuela from the Americas; and Australia from Oceania.
Co-directed by Fernando Brotons and Daniel Artíguez, the tournament receives the support of the municipalities of Benidorm, L'Alfàs del Pi, Altea, La Nucía, Calpe, Finestrat and La Vila Joiosa, particularly through the provision of sports facilities.
Tournament partners and sponsors include Kappa, Grupo HCB Hospitales, Fútbol Factory, Sala Marina, Aqualandia, Terra Mítica, Hotel Meliá Benidorm and Prime.
