Costa Blanca Cup 2025: A Record-Breaking Edition
The summer's premier international grassroots tournament surpasses its all-time best figures in both total participation (305 teams) and participation by foreign teams (30 countries). Futsal celebrates its 20th anniversary
The 2025 Costa Blanca Cup will be a record-breaking edition. This will be the case for both the international youth football tournament and the futsal tournament. At the close of the registration phase, the organizer, Tour-Sport Promociones Deportivas, based on data analysis, will have a total of 305 teams from 30 countries. It will all kick off with the indoor competition, which will take place between July 2 and 6, also in a 20th anniversary year. This will be followed by the football tournament, now in its thirty-first edition, which will be held between July 6 and 12.
“The work carried out over all these years of development, both in the football tournament and in the case of futsal, which we are celebrating its twentieth anniversary, gives us great satisfaction with each edition, but it is true that in 2025, the fact of having achieved record numbers in both participation and the number of foreign teams, based on the pillars that support our tournaments, is very important and satisfying. And this motivates us to continue growing and improving,” says CBC Director Fernando Brotons.
While chronologically the Costa Blanca Cup Futsal will come first, it is worth highlighting this special moment in relation to its twentieth anniversary, a time period in global terms that has historically been marked by the participation of 1,050 teams from 25 different countries.
Specifically for 2025, the figures released with the closing of the futsal registration phase reveal that a total of 97 teams from eleven countries will enter the competition. Up to 38 foreign teams, 37 Spanish teams (specifically from outside the Valencian Community), will participate in the various venues in the Marina Alta and Baja regions, while 22 Valencian teams will participate.
In the case of the international youth football tournament, there will be 208 teams, representing up to 19 countries. While there will be a significant local mix, with 51 teams, the actual number of clubs from outside the Valencian region is even: there will be 80 teams from the rest of Spain and 77 from abroad.
Of the total number of teams participating in the two modalities that make up the Costa Blanca Cup, there will be a total of 305 teams, from 30 different countries: 117 Spanish, 115 foreign teams (from four continents), and 73 local teams. This total precisely underlines the fact that this is a record-breaking edition: both in terms of total participation and the participation of foreign teams. In futsal, the data indicates a 60% increase compared to 2024.
To accommodate all the people arriving to participate in this tournament—not only participants and coaching staff, but also accompanying individuals—24 hotel establishments have been promoted as a sports tourism measure to accommodate 4,000 participants. A total of 719 matches will be played in both categories.
