Costa Blanca Cup Venues Host 105 Matches on the Second Day of the International Tournament

The international youth indoor soccer tournament opened the curtain on its first day, with teams from 19 countries competing for a night of light, color, and a fireworks display

The sports facilities of Benidorm, L'Alfàs del Pi, Altea, La Nucía, Finestrat, and La Vila Joiosa, the venues participating in the Costa Blanca Cup 2025, hosted a total of 105 matches this Tuesday during the second day of the international youth soccer tournament. These matches were divided into the different groups of the ten men's and four women's categories of the summer soccer championship par excellence for youth and initial competition ages.
The Costa Blanca Cup is in its 31st edition this year, further underscored by the potential of 19 teams from around the world who have come to the Marina Alta and Marina Baja. Between national and international clubs and teams, more than four thousand players are competing these days in Benidorm, L'Alfàs del Pi, Altea, La Nucía, Finestrat, and La Vila Joiosa. A tournament that combines sport, internationality, sports tourism, and memorable experiences for all its participants and their companions. In addition to this intercultural component between boys and girls from different countries, it's worth highlighting that among the Spanish teams, there is one very special one: The Costa Blanca Cup organizers once again welcomed with great enthusiasm, and also helped with their presence and participation, Arrels CF, a U19 women's team made up of players representing teams and/or localities affected by Dana, the unfortunate tragedy that struck part of the province of Valencia hard on October 29, 2024. This team was formed solely and expressly for this representation and in tribute to their participation in the tournament, as was the case with the Valencia Cup Girls last Easter. In fact, this team defeated SoCal of the United States (3-0) on Tuesday, and a win on Wednesday would allow them to reach the semifinals of the championship. You can access the schedule, results, and standings for each team by clicking HERE.
This situation is shared by many teams in the different categories and groups. After two rounds of competition, the initial phase is taking shape, providing access to either the knockout stages of the Final Phase A, which will lead to the title, or, in any case, to a Phase B, which will allow all teams to enjoy playing and competing in what they love most. Tomorrow, Wednesday, the group stage will conclude.
In short, this is a record-breaking edition for the international nature of the tournament, organized by Tor-Sport Promociones Deportivas. A total of 208 teams, representing nineteen countries, with 4,000 players, as well as their technical and support staff. While there is a notable local range, with 51 teams, the actual number of clubs from outside the Valencian region is even: 80 teams from the rest of Spain and 77 from abroad.
Internationally, the consolidation of participation by teams from two regions of the world is important. On the one hand, the Middle East with Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates. On the other hand, the Caribbean, with the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico each having ten teams. China returns after several years of absence, as does Brazil and Taiwan, which have doubled their participation in both soccer and futsal. Iceland, a country of barely 300,000 inhabitants and very few federation members, has competed in 21 of the 31 editions of the Costa Blanca Cup. The United States' presence is also growing.
